I really want Invisalign but I smoke. I am wondering if anybody smokes who wears Invisalign too. Can I smoke if I get Invisalign? Thanks Ian
Ian – It is possible to smoke while you wear Invisalign, but the cigarette smoke may cloud the aligners and the nicotine can stain them. If your aligners get cloudy or stained, they won’t be clear anymore, and people will notice the aligners, which somewhat defeats the purpose of wearing Invisalign.
Some people opt to take the aligners out of their mouth while they smoke. If you smoke frequently, repeatedly taking the aligners out of your mouth during the day can delay the effectiveness of your treatment with Invisalign.
