I have a toothache, but can’t get to a dentist because they close too early

This is the worst time for me to have gotten a toothache. My co-worker is out on maternity leave, and I am doing her work and mine. My tooth has been hurting since Wednesday a week ago and I have done everything on my own to try to ease it but I can’t. I have used Anbesol, ice, and ibuprofen. I don’t leave work until around 7:00 p.m. If I wasn’t covering for my co-worker I could leave work and find a dentist but it’s not possible. Is there anything else I can take to get the toothache to go way? Thanks. Tiff

Tiff – You really need to see a dentist. You probably have an infection in your tooth that needs to be taken care of. If you have not experienced any trauma to your tooth, you can try flossing thoroughly around and between it. At time, food debris can get trapped between your tooth and gums, causing pain and inflammation.

Some dentists have late hours or are open on the weekend. Search the Internet for a dentist in your area with late hours, Saturday appointments, or weekend appointments. You may be able to find one who can help.

Another option is to look for an emergency dentist. Explain your situation. Some offices have dentists on call who are willing to work with your schedule.

Be certain to make an appointment as soon as possible.
