I have really not been doing good at all with going to the dentist. I have really put it off and waited to late. Last year the dentist told me that if I didn’t take care of my teeth I would need 2 root canals. That made me even more nervous so I haven’t gone back. Now the 2 teeth hurt so bad that I know I need the work done. I am really worried about the pain. How bad will it be?  I want to know what to expect so I can prepare myself mentally.– Esteban

Esteban – If you see a gentle dentist, your visit will be pain free. There are a lot of methods that a gentle dentist practices to prevent you from experiencing pain.

Many patients who worry about pain also fear the injection to numb the tooth. A gentle dentist has the technology to numb the area around the affected teeth to prevent you from feeling the injection.

Additionally, if you are very anxious, you can be sedated before your appointment so that you will be completed relaxed for the treatment. Unlike general anesthesia, you will still be conscious, but you will be carefully monitored and calm throughout the root canal treatments.

You can schedule consultations with two or three dentists to find out what they do to ensure your comfort for dental treatment. Dentists who regularly see anxious patients are very compassionate about your anxiety and will make you feel comfortable in their office.
